Pre Production Session
A Pre Production Session is the planning stage of the music project.
When you book a Pre Production Session, you are welcome to come to the studio and discuss your project with me.
We can talk about how many tracks you are looking to record, aswell as your music genre, style, and how you want the record to sound. This is a great time to discuss your musical influences, what instruments you play,
and the general direction you would like the project to take.
After some teas and coffees and a general chat, we will start recording guide/ghost tracks
of your music, so we can easily Identify the time signature, structure and timings of your tracks.
Pre Production Sessions are great for projects where guide tracks are essential for a recording session to run smoothly. They are especially helpful for band recordings, where a drummer may need to follow a guide track to a metronome during a Drum Day Recording Session.
It is always great to have a concrete plan of what you want to record.

Drum Recording Day Session
A Drum Recording Day Session involves a day at a Drum Hall recording an acoustic drum kit.
This one is for the drummers wanting to faithfully record their acoustic drum kits onto their music.
During A Drum Recording Day Session, you can record;
- Acoustic Drum Kit
Recording the drums in a great location gives them the big, bold punch and space they deserve.
The multitracked recording will consist of a multitude of close mics, overheads, and room mics.
This gives me many options in the mixing stage to blend the perfect amount of attack and sustain.
I will take my mobile recording setup and meet you at the designated hall for the day.
I will take care of hiring a specific hall for the recording of the drum kit.
You just need to bring your drum kit, stands, cymbals, sticks and drum mat to the session.

Mixing
Once recording is finished, you’ll no doubt want the track to sound the best it can possibly be.
- Mixing is a creative and technical process of combining all of the individually recorded instruments,
and making them sit together cohesively.
- It can also be a great time to get creative and make the record sound larger than life.
- With careful volume adjustments, automation, dynamics, and the addition of insert and send effects, I can elevate your music recording to stand out above the rest.
- I have a massive plugin library from highly regarded companies such as Fabfilter, SSL, Universal Audio, Oeksound, Sonnox, Valhalla, Soundtoys, Soundtheory, iZotope and more.
- Pitch correction with Melodyne can be applied to vocals where needed.
- The studio is acoustically designed and treated to give the best representation while mixing your music, and the Yamaha monitoring system is calibrated with Sonarworks Sound ID.
This means you can relax in the knowledge that the music we produce will sound great everywhere you listen.
Mastering
Mastering is the final stage in the music making process
- Mastering is a final quality check to make sure that your music is ready before it is sent to
distrubution channels and broadcasting.
- Ensuring your master mix is suitable for the end product, whether thats CD, Streaming, or Radio.
- Mastering to certain loudness specifications, sample rates, & bit depth
- Making multiple tracks on an ep or album gel together sonically
- Adding meta-data to tracks; eg. song titles, album titles, and composers ect.
- Error checking your final mix

Mixing and Mastering will be done in my own time,
after the recording session has taken place.
